JR Smith Tweets Support Of Unvaccinated Kyrie Irving

Earlier this week, the Brooklyn Nets voted as a team to prohibit Kyrie Irving from re-joining the team until he's vaccinated. Irving then released a video further explaining why medical freedom was important to him and who he was fighting for.

Now former NBA three-point sniper JR Smith is rushing to Kyrie's defense on Twitter. This is huge.

"If we support one another, we rise together," the gif says.

That's a phenomenal point, Mr. Smith, and I'd like to expand on how we can accomplish that. All unvaccinated Americans can cheer on the vaccinated to do whatever they so choose with their bodies, and here's the most important task: vaxxers have to respect those, like Kyrie Irving, who make different choices. There cannot be any ramifications for disagreeing with private medical choices. Kyrie never agreed to deal with this when he signed his contract, so he shouldn't suddenly be expected to conform now.

What Smith's post shows is that more athletes think like Kyrie does than our media will lead us to believe. No one wants to inject their bodies with a fluid in order to cash a check at work, and that includes Kyrie, who stands to lose north of $16 million this season if he remains unvaccinated.
