Ja Morant Exits Barclay's Center In A Wheelchair With A 'Lower Left Leg Injury'

Oh no. Memphis Grizzlies' emerging superstar Ja Morant has left tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets in a wheelchair. After rolling his ankle contesting a shot, he clearly couldn't put any weight on his left leg.

Here's a better look at what happened.

Morant attempts to close out on a jump shot from Nets' forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and gets tangled up. No details have been made available yet on the extent of the injury, but that's a decent sign that contact was made.

Basketball fans are holding their breath for one of the game's brightest stars.

Update:

Huge sigh of relief for Grizzlies' fans. It's obviously not ideal to lose a franchise star for any amount of time, but an ankle sprain is usually manageable and considered short term.

Memphis, you can breathe again.
