Ex-Patriot Linked To Dell, Sonya Curry Divorce

The first family of basketball, the Currys, is now getting involved with another sport. Football's made its way into the family, but in this case, off-field performance has been more notable than anything taking place between the white lines. After news surfaced yesterday that Dell and Sonya Curry -- parents of Steph and Seth -- were divorcing, new allegations suggest Sonya's affair with a former New England Patriot caused the split.

Upon filing for divorce, Sonya Curry accused husband Dell of "marital misconduct." Dell answered by filing that Sonya performed "illicit acts of sexual misconduct." In other words, both Currys were getting down, just not with each other.

Now, TMZ Sports reports that Dell is pointing the finger at former Patriots tight end Steven Johnson as Sonya's side piece. In court documents obtained by TMZ, Dell states that Sonya "began her extramarital affair with Mr. Johnson during the marriage and prior to the date of separation, and she lied to each time she cheated on him."

Johnson, 56, was a standout at Virginia Tech and spent one season with the Patriots.

Despite claims by Dell Curry that Sonya and Johnson are living together in Tennessee, Sonya maintains she is living alone and dating. The Currys were legally separated in March of 2020.

Thanksgiving at the Curry house should be interesting.
