Ben Simmons Tells Sixers He Wants Out

Ben Simmons is now telling the Sixers he wants out and that he won't report in if he's still on the team by training camp, according to Sixers beat writer Keith Pompey.

We've recently seen videos of Simmons swishing threes, that's become a yearly thing, and now it appears the three-time All-Star wants a change of scenery. Can't really blame him there -- we're sick of watching him play in Philly, too.

Right now, Simmons effectively has a four-year, $147 million deal that will take him to age 29. It's not like he hasn't performed well in the regular season, as he's coming off a Defensive Player of the Year award. It's mainly the fact that Ben Simmons can't shoot a lick.

Remember when your parents took you to Disneyland to shoot for prizes on those oval-shaped rims in Toon Town no one ever scored on? That's what Ben Simmons sees during live NBA games, which scares him so much he won't bother attempting to take jumpers. It's one thing to fail at a task and be criticized for the results, but it's a whole different ballgame when you refuse to try.

Here's Bleacher Report pretending that Simmons' workout videos are somehow different than the last three summers:

Complete and utter nonsense that will amount to a boatload of passed up shots, sagging opposing defenses, and stellar on-ball defense. Nothing wrong with that, as a team like the Golden State Warriors could certainly use his skillset. There are teams around the league that already shoot the cover off the ball, so expect those teams to come calling this week.

We've already heard from Sixers GM Daryl Morey that the asking price is high. We'll see about that now...
