Daniel Suarez Pukes Inside His Helmet, Proves He's A Warrior At Daytona

NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez deserves an ESPY for his performance Sunday during the Daytona road course race where he finished 16th, well behind race winner Christopher Bell. Go ahead and give Suarez the Arthur Ashe Courage Award for 2021 after he spent the last 15 laps of the race with his helmet filled up with puke.

Let me say it again...THE GUY FINISHED THE RACE WITH HIS TIGHT BELL RACING HELMET FILLED WITH PUKE!!! As someone who has put on a racing helmet and sat behind Mario Andretti as he whipped me around Indianapolis Motor Speedway in his two-seater, I can tell you those helmets don't have much room for puke to pile up before it's in your nose and you're breathing in puke stench.

Add in the fact that Suarez was on a road course where he's making left and right turns, going through a bus stop, hammering it up to 200 mph on the oval and doing it over 15 laps with puke in his helmet, and you have the recipe for courage in sports.

"I started to feel sick with 25 laps to go and threw up in the car with 15 laps to go (yes, inside the helmet) Those last 15 laps were definitely NOT fun to run... You guys can imagine...," Suarez wrote on Twitter.

According to the Reddit NASCAR race observers, Suarez put on a gutsy performance after the puking. He gained five to six spots over the last 10-15 laps as he hammered it to finish as fast as possible to get the puke helmet off his head.

Those designated drivers out there who've had a buddy puke out a window after a long night of drinking know exactly what it smelled like inside Daniel's helmet. Think about it and don't forget it when ESPN gives the Arthur Ashe Award to someone not nearly deserving as Suarez.
