Dana White on McGregor's Chirping: 'Leave People's Family ... Out Of It'

While highly anticipated UFC 264: Poirier vs McGregor 3 ended with a gruesome injury to Conor McGregor, UFC President Dana White said The Notorious One should have left Dustin Poirier's family out of his chirping after the loss.

White shared his thoughts on what went down at UFC 264 on Saturday evening in Las Vegas after the fights. When asked about McGregor's comments from the ground, White said he didn't hear them but was soon informed by a reporter that the comments referenced Poirier's wife.

"I don't like that, that's not good," he said. "Leave people's family and wives and, you know, all that stuff out of it. Family has nothing to do with it."

The fight ended after the first round — which heavily went Poirier's way — came to a close. McGregor was left sitting against the Octagon, and replays showed what had happened: McGregor's lower leg snapped as he squared up against Poirier.

OutKick's Alejandro Avila previously reported that Poirier was declared the winner by Doctor’s Stoppage/TKO. In a first round that featured a number of hard kicks landed and received by McGregor, the injury occurred when the Southpaw boxer took a step back on his leg foot, causing what appeared to be a clean snap of the ankle that sent McGregor to the ground.

“This is not over,” announced McGregor, eyeing a pissed off Poirier, who was held back by his corner.

McGregor was taken out on a stretcher after suffering the leg injury.
