Yankees Place Jameson Taillon On Injured List With A Partial Tear In His Ankle

The Yankees will be without Jameson Taillon for at least the next 10 days as an MRI revealed he has a partially torn tendon in his ankle, according to MLB reporter Bryan Hoch. Pretty much worse case scenario after the Yankees pulled ace right-hander Gerrit Cole off the mound half way through his last start with a tight hamstring in the middle of a heated race for the wildcard.

Manager Aaron Boone and the rest of this team are in scramble mode.

Taillon hasn't pitched particularly well having failed to win each of his last three starts, however the team still needs his quality innings. Without their two-starter, the Yankees are thin on the mound after they just sent all-star reliever Jonathan Loaisiga to the 10-day IL with a strained rotator cuff.

The Tampa Bay Rays are now locked in for the division title since they don't ever lose and the rest of this season will be spent watching the Yankees try and outrun Boston or Oakland without their second-best starter. They can do it considering we just watched this same unit win 13-straight games.

Aaron Boone needs to find answers from some unexpected sources or he and plenty others will lose their jobs. Not to be a downer here, it's just that Boone hasn't exactly shown he's the right guy for the job. The Yankees currently sit in the second wildcard to matchup with the Red Sox as Boston sits a half game up. Toronto, however, goes for the sweep in New York tonight to pull within a half game of the Yankees. Palms are sweaty in the Bronx...
