Padres' Blake Snell Sounds Off About His 82 Rating On MLB The Show
As an avid player of San Diego Studios' MLB The Show, I can attest that Blake Snell's 82 rating is too low. He's already won a Cy Young award, AND he was dominant last season. His only blemish was, of course, being pulled early from a World Series game, an unfortunate occurrence in which he had absolutely no say.
When you dominate the eventual World Series champion Dodgers, you deserve better than an '82.' Well, Blake Snell agrees and sounded off about it on Twitch:
For context, an 82 is a "gold" level player, as opposed to where he wants to, which is a diamond rating (85 or higher). He's absolutely worthy of a diamond rating, and it's actually common to see players vouch for themselves.
Just last week, future G.O.A.T. and Angels outfielder Mike Trout asked why his rating wasn't a 99, and can you take a guess what happened 12 hours later? MLB The Show bumped his 95 rating up to a 96. I've always said that pleading for respect hardly ever works, but in this case, it did. Snell was clearly following in those footsteps.
Blake Snell should AT LEAST be an 85, and I know for certain that MLB The Show developers saw this stream. We'll see if it pays off...
