Michael Brantley Is Now Headed Back To The Astros

Michael Brantley and the Houston Astros have agreed to a two-year, $32 million deal, according to Fox's Mark Berman.

Trust us, we're as confused as you are after news broke just a few hours ago that Brantley would join former teammate George Springer in Toronto. Apparently, we can't trust the media. Go figure.

Brantley, a four-time All-Star, is a career .297 hitter whom Houston has grown to love, and clearly wanted back. It also made a ton of sense why the Blue Jays were interested in him too. Michael Brantley's offensive game is everything old-school baseball fans grew up watching. He puts the ball in play, fields his position, and most importantly...he's clutch.

Brantley hit .300 this past postseason with five homers (because of course), so it's not a surprise that Houston didn't want to lose Springer and Brantley in one offseason.

He's still just 33 years old and will certainly plug into the three spot in the lineup on Opening Day. The rest of the league may not like it, but a it's a beautiful day to be an Astros fan.
