Major League Baseball Has Announced Triple-A Will Play 150-Game Schedules

Major League Baseball will now have Triple-A teams playing 150-game schedules, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports. Despite the lockout, minor leaguers are allowed to report to spring training in early February, and now they're ready to rock with nearly a big league-length season.

More baseball for players looking to make a name for themselves is probably a good thing for everyone, right?

MLB just revealed that they're hiring a mediator to help end the lockout, but changes to the minor leagues while all this is going on proves just how important Triple-A is. Obviously big league teams make most the dough, however making sure young talent stays ready is also important to maintaining a positive business model.

We can't forget how team-friendly contracts are for owners when a young stud comes out the farm. Landing a 150-game season better prepares the young guys for an exhausting schedule. Props to MLB for getting us more baseball when it seemed Rob Manfred's only focus was on how he could give us less.
