Joe Biden On Rangers Going Full Capacity For Opening Day: 'I Think It's A Mistake'

President Joe Biden had a lot to say during an interview with ESPN on Wednesday night. We already covered that he would support Major League Baseball moving the All-Star Game out of Georgia, but there's more.

The president is also upset that the Texas Rangers will allow a full capacity stadium for Opening Day. He went so far as to say that allowing the 40,000 fans to attend is "a mistake" and "not responsible."

"I think it's a mistake," Biden told ESPN's Sage Steele during the interview. "They should listen to Dr. Fauci, the scientists and the experts. But, I think it's not responsible."

I mean, OK. But where was this energy when people were pouring into the streets of Washington  -- and other cities -- following the election back in November? Did he come out and say that was a mistake and irresponsible as well?

Of course not.

Celebrating his presidential victory was worth getting out for. Having fun at a professional baseball game for the first time in over a year and a half is not. If Biden had his way, everyone would probably stay at home for the foreseeable future.

But of course Rangers executive Jon Daniels emphasized that it's just for one day. He joined 105.3 THE FAN in Dallas / Ft. Worth on Thursday to talk Opening Day and the president's criticism.

"I think after Opening Day, reality is we're not going to be at full capacity, I doubt it," Daniels said, via TMZ Sports. "I think after Opening Day, reality is we're not going to be at full capacity, I doubt it."

Daniels made sure to give the president a pass. Remember, no one is allowed to criticize Biden. Those are the sort of things that get you canceled nowadays, so we have to treat everything he says with kid gloves.

"I do see it's kind of a complex issue and I do see why the president would say what he said," Daniels followed up.
