Giants Legend Buster Posey Expected To Announce Retirement Tomorrow

Giants catcher Buster Posey is expected to announce his retirement tomorrow, according to The Athletic. Did not anticipate this one after a strong 2021 campaign that could've extended his tenure in San Francisco, but an amazing career that may potentially land the three-time World Series champion in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Posey hit .304 over the span of his 12-year career spending all of that with the San Francisco Giants. In this day and age, Posey being able to stick with one team throughout his service in the league with the new school emphasis on player salaries is impressive.

Most players end up somewhere they never wanted to play for checks we'd all want. Posey was, however, fortunate to play for an organization that rarely ever needed a rebuild, allowing for him to stick around until he called it quits. He slugged 158 homers and drove 729 runs as the anchor of the most successful franchise of the 2010's.

It's hard to imagine postseason baseball and not thinking about Buster Posey jumping up and down like a little kid to celebrate a World Series championship. Congratulations on a brilliant career, Buster.
