Free Agent Pitcher Corey Kluber Set To Work Out For MLB Teams In Florida

The last time Corey Kluber was on a Major League Baseball field, he was walking off it after he suffered a tear in his shoulder after less than one inning of throwing for the Texas Rangers.

Now the 34-year-old is looking to make a comeback, a comeback which will start in Florida on Wednesday. KIuber will have a throwing session in front of a number of Major League teams.

Kluber, who will turn 35 in April, won a pair of Cy Young Awards with the Cleveland Indians, but he has had a number of injury issues that has allowed him to make only eight starts the last two seasons.

In 2018, Kluber went 20-7 with a 2.89 ERA for Cleveland, making 33 starts throwing 215 innings.

The Indians, who Kluber pitched for from 2011 till they moved him to the Rangers prior to the 2020 season, will be one of the teams on hand in Florida to watch Kluber pitch.

If Kluber isn't able to throw enough to be a starter, teams might consider putting him in their bullpen as an arm that could get batters out late in the game.

In his 10-year MLB career, Kluber is 98-58 as a starter with a 3.16 ERA in 204 starts.
