CC Sabathia Details His Alcoholism In New Book; Talks About Waking Up Naked At A Jay-Z Party

CC Sabathia played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball, enjoying several winning seasons with the Cleveland Indians and later on the New York Yankees.

What Sabathia was hiding, though, was that all that time while playing in the Majors, he was an alcoholic.

The former MLB pitcher has a new book out, entitled Till the End. In it, Sabathia goes into great detail about his drinking and how he would sneak around to hide it from others.

"I would pitch, and then the next three days, I would drink. So the day after, right after I came out of the game, I would need a drink and would drink the next three days, and I would take two days off, pitch and do it all over again," Sabathia told CBS This Morning.

"So I kind of had a routine where I would normalize drinking for three days, like a bender, and would detox myself, be able to pitch — and do it all over again."

There's a moment in the book that had to be a surprise to many. Sabathia talks about attending a Jay-Z party once, and afterwards,  he woke up and realized he was naked.

"It's no problem for me to tell the story, and like I told you before, I had normalized all this stuff," Sabathia said.
