Braves' Marcell Ozuna Arrested on Aggravated Assault, Battery Charges
Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested on Saturday and faces charges of aggravated assault with strangulation, and misdemeanor battery - family violence.
Fulton County Jail records show the 30-year-old was arrested on Saturday by Sandy Springs Police Department.
Major League Baseball is expected to open an investigation into Ozuna following his arrest, ESPN's Jeff Passan reports. He could be subject to the league’s domestic-violence policy and faces a potential suspension.
Ozuna was previously placed on the IR list as he will miss at least six weeks because of the two fingers he fractured while helping the Braves claim a 3-1 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.
