Braves' Jorge Soler Tests Positive For COVID

Brave outfielder Jorge Soler has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be replaced by Christian Pache on the NLDS roster, according to the team. And that means Soler was unvaccinated because the vaccinated aren't tested for COVID under postseason protocols, in case anyone was wondering.

It's a shame Soler has to sit out with a virus that he would've never been tested for had he been vaccinated. Just another regulation that has nothing to do with science.

"Major League Baseball announced today that it has approved a roster substitution for the Atlanta Braves die to a positive COVID-19 test for Jorge Soler," the release says. "As a result, Soler will be replaced by outfielder Christian Pache on Atlanta's Division Series roster.

"In accordance with MLB postseason rules, Pache may remain on the active roster until Soler is approved to be reinstated from the COVID-19 related injured list."

What a joke.

Situations like these should leave little doubt as to how the middle class will be treated going forward. The vaccinated, who can still contract and spread COVID, will face wildly different protocols that make their lives easier. These type of inconsistencies will force players and regular people to make a private health decision that they otherwise wouldn't make for the reward of softened protocols. Baseball had one job and it was to follow science. So much for that.
