Braves Beat Brewers In Game 3 Behind The Heroics of Joc Pederson

The Braves just beat the Brewers 4-0 in Game 3 of the NLDS behind Joc Pederson's 5th inning three-run homer off the bench. This game was otherwise dominated by starting pitching, as Braves' right-hander Ian Anderson went five innings of shut out ball to lead the team past Freddy Peralta and the Brew Crew.

Peralta was arguably better too -- however, he was pulled for a pinch-hit opportunity late in the 5th inning, which limited his impact today. A tough call from Brewers manager Craig Council shortened a masterful performance. The misery of a National League game without a DH that forces tough decisions like these...

JOCTOBER is alive and well. Half of Braves Twitter wants to know why Joc Pederson hasn't earned himself a start in the outfield. But why would Atlanta mix up what's clearly working? Obviously Joc is comfortable being called on with the game on the line, and the Braves know they have a clutch at-bat in their back pocket at all times.

It's reminiscent of Raul Ibanez in his October run with the Yankees off the bench back in 2012.

The rest of the game was controlled by the sexiest man in baseball, Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson.

Braves manager Brian Snitker was asked whether right-hander Charlie Morton would be available for Game 4, and he quickly said "yes" to postgame reports. Meanwhile Craig Council was asked that same question about Brewers ace Corbin Burnes throwing on short rest, and he said he was NOT available. Interesting.

One team is playing and coaching like their lives depend on it while the other plans for the future. Game 4 should be juicy, and we can't wait for tomorrow night @ 5:07 ET in Atlanta. The tomahawk chops will be heavy for a closeout game at home.
