Blake Treinen, Dodgers Agree to Two-year, $17.5 Million Deal

According to a report from ESPN's Jeff Passan, the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers and right-handed reliever Blake Treinen have agreed to a two-year, $17.5 million deal. The sinker-baller was a catalyst in L.A.'s World Series run last year, so this a major signing. Yeah, we know--the rich stayed rich.

Like the Dodgers needed more good news after everything went their way last season. L.A's front office likely saw division rivals making aggressive moves, like Yu Darvish and Blake Snell becoming Padres, and decided to make some moves of their own. Re-signing the team's best reliever is a nice start to the offseason.

Judging off this Dodgers tweet, you'd think the team just signed Sandy Koufax, which goes to show how pleased this fan base was with Treinen's performance last year.

Does this move solidify the Dodgers as favorites in the NL West again? Probably, but they'll still need to make other moves too, now that the Padres have decided to spend.
