Bartolo Colon Wants Mets Reunion, Settling For Mexican League Contract

Bartolo Colon has just signed a one-year deal with Acereros de Monclava in Mexico, and we're kind of disappointed. The 47-year-old fan favorite had intentions of reuniting with the Mets, but unfortunately nothing materialized.

Good news is that the Acereros won last year's title, so it seems Colon is in good hands.

Colon loves baseball, and that's apparent on screen. Fans in New York rarely embrace an athlete on the downslope of his career, yet he managed to captivate 50,000 strong at Citi Field three years ago.

When the last time you pitched was three years ago and you had an ERA near six and fans still want you back--you're doing something right. Colon now joins a team of former big leaguers Eric Young Jr., Erick Aybar, Francisco Rodriguez, Chris Carter, and Al Alburquerque, and we can't wait to see how the team uses him.

Will he hit? I mean, he probably should since his homer off James Shields in 2016 was arguably the most entertaining event in baseball history.
