Todd McShay Announces He's Taking Some 'Time Away' From ESPN
ESPN sideline reporter and NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay announced Tuesday that he was going to "take some time away" from his role at the network to focus on his health and his family. The 44-year-old McShay worried viewers after yet another sideline report where something seemed off.
McShay's work during Saturday's Alabama-Miami game had people wondering what was wrong. It comes after a 2020 season where McShay struggled through a report during a Wisconsin-Northwestern broadcast.
"Thank you ESPN for being so supportive and for all the well wishes," McShay wrote Tuesday. "I can't wait to be back on the sidelines soon.
Play-by-play guy Sean McDonough would go on to tell viewers during the 2020 Wisconsin-Northwestern game that McShay had left the broadcast in the second half due to an illness. Asked about his situation at the time, ESPN declined to comment.
