Plane In The Neck: Media Freaks Out Over Southwest Airlines Pilot Saying 'Let's Go, Brandon' During Flight

In four years of President Trump, members of the media were willing to stomach frequent insults made at No. 45 — even permitting a D-list comedienne posing next to a fake decapitated head of the former president.

Now, these same commentators are losing their cool over the Let's Go, Brandon chant currently trending in, around and throughout America. The lighthearted jab, spawned at a NASCAR event, is shooting up the charts and performed from the sporting venues to the skies.

On Friday, a Southwest Airlines pilot — flying from Houston to Albuquerque — made a public announcement to his flight's passengers and signed off with "Let's go, Brandon."

An Associated Press writer happened to be onboard and requested to speak with the pilot after his mention of the Brandon slogan.

Following her in-flight experience, writer Colleen Long released a column on Saturday antagonizing those who use the chant, similar to the outrage regarding the Atlanta Braves' tomahawk chop.

An ESPN employee recently wrote on the "real-life violence" posed by using the chop at events — showcasing the media's fervor with wanting to cancel anything they deem problematic.

The airline released a statement following the complaints, an effort largely seen on Twitter from blue checkmarks.

"The Southwest Team takes pride in providing a welcoming, comfortable, and respectful environment for the millions of Customers who fly with the airline each year and behavior from any individual that is divisive or offensive is not condoned," announced the airline.
