Peacock Is Finally Coming to Roku

Peacock, the newish streaming service from NBCUniversal, is finally coming to Roku soon as the two sides announced an agreement. There was what was essentially a carriage dispute for about two months since Peacock's launch. If you honestly care about what they were fighting about you can read about it here; the fight ended after NBC threatened to pull the rest of their apps off Roku.

As of August, Roku had 43 million active users. Peacock has some English Premier League games, streaming rights for shows like Yellowstone, Law & Order, and Two and a Half Men, and a bunch of movies (Deer Hunter, Jurassic Park, ET, Reservoir Dogs, a bunch of Hitchcock movies; here's Vulture's top 50 list). Peacock is free but it has ads.

Peacock still isn't on Amazon Fire. The new HBO streaming platform, HBO Max, isn't on Amazon Fire either, and it's also still not on Roku. Hopefully this Peacock/Roku deal is a precursor towards those other ones getting done.
