Mark Levin Speaks About Dan Bongino Moving to Rush's Time Slot, Says He Didn't Want to Move to Noon
At OutKick, we reported Tuesday that Dan Bongino had agreed to terms with Cumulus' Westwood One to host a live daily radio show from 12-3 ET, otherwise known as Rush Limbaugh's former spot. This news has since been made official.
Mark Levin, whose show is also syndicated by Westwood One, discussed the news at the top of his show today. While Levin and Bongino are now technically colleagues, they have also been close friends.
"I want to be first to salute Dan," Levin said.
Levin said he was approached to move his show from 6-9 ET to Rush's time slot but passed. Though it would be an honor to take the spot of his mentor, Levin said he will never move airtimes after the relationships he has built with his audience, Westwood One and other stations over the past 20 years.
Westwood One's daily talk-radio lineup includes Levin, Ben Shapiro, Chris Plante, Jim Bohannon, Michael Knowles, and starting May 24, Dan Bongino.
Sources say that Bongino's radio show will differ from his podcast as it will include both callers and guests.
"Rush would be proud," Levin said at the end of the topic.
