LeBron Wants to Buy Kelly Loeffler's WNBA Team
LeBron James, whose radical political views helped tanked the NBA Finals to all-time ratings lows, is quite happy to see Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) lose the Georgia runoff to Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock.
After outlets called the race for Warnock, social justice warrior LeBron teased the purchase of the Atlanta Dream, the WNBA team Loeffler co-owns.
"Think I’m gone put together an ownership group for the The Dream," LeBron tweets with the error of back-to-back uses of "the."
LeBron didn't make clear whom he intends to partner with. I would ask the obvious question, but unlike Kamala Harris, I don't steal exact wording from others. I give credit. So, I'll cite Dan Bongino for addressing the elephant in the room:
No answer from LeBron yet.
Loeffler purchased the WNBA franchise with Atlanta businesswoman Mary Brock in 2011, but Loeffler is not involved with the team’s daily operations anymore. In 2019, Loeffler also stepped down from her seat on the WNBA board of governors.
This summer, Loeffler spoke out against the NBA and WNBA for incorporating subjective political views into their seasons.
"I adamantly oppose the Black Lives Matter political movement," Loeffler said. "Which has advocated for the defunding of police, called for the removal of Jesus from churches and the disruption of the nuclear family structure, harbored anti-Semitic views, and promoted violence and destruction across the country."
"The statement 'Black lives matter' is very different than the organization Black Lives Matter," Loeffler also said. "I think we all agree the life of every African American is important."
That's a very reasonable perspective. No wonder the media and LeBron are so against Loeffler. To them, reasonableness is dangerous and ineffective.
If Loeffler sells and LeBron James and some woke partners do ultimately purchase the team —hopefully, it has more success than LeBron's many ongoing TV projects...
