Get Ready For More Steve Kornacki, A Lot More

Are you a fan of Steve Kornacki? If the answer is no, you can never turn on NBC programming again. If you do, you will see Kornacki. A lot of him.

Kornacki got his contract extended with NBCUniversal, and now his presence has been extended miles further.

NBC is expanding Kornacki well beyond the usual network bump. In addition to his wizardry on the touchscreen during election periods, Kornacki will work with the company’s Television and Streaming Entertainment group to create and produce a game show, which he will host. Presumably, Peacock will be a possible landing spot.

Here's where it gets really Kornackiyyy. Viewers of NBC Sports have gotten pretty familiar with the khaki-wearing guy, especially after his recent appearances on Sunday Night Football and the Kentucky Derby. Moving forward, though, familiarity won't be enough. Sports fans will have to learn to either love Kornacki's non-suit pants or to hate them.

With his new contract, Kornacki is an official member of the NBC Sports team, so he will be featured on coverages of this summer's Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. That's not a bad start.

It doesn't stop there, sports fans. Kornacki will work the Breeders’ Cup World Championships, he's returning to Football Night in America, and he will have an appearance on NBC's coverage of Super Bowl LVI in February.

Exhausted yet?

NBC will also use Kornacki as a contributor to the NBC Regional Sports Networks to break down data for the NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL.

That's it, for now.

2021, Kornacki's year.
