Former Trump Officials Like Kellyanne Conway, Sean Spicer Getting Booted From Military Academy Boards

President Joe Biden's administration is removing former President Donald Trump's appointees to military academy advisory boards, with White House press secretary Jen Psaki saying the president wants appointees who are "qualified."

Yahoo News reports the White House Office of Presidential Personnel sent letters Wednesday to a number of holdovers from the Trump administration asking them to resign from their posts on advisory and visitor's boards for schools like the US Military Academy, the US Naval Academy, and the US Air Force Academy before the end of their three-year terms.

The former officials being asked to step down include former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, and Lt. Col. Doug McGregor among others, the article states.

"The president's objective is what any president's objective is, was to ensure you have nominees and people serving on these boards who are qualified to serve on them and who are aligned with your values," Psaki said in her daily briefing. "And so yes, that was an ask that was made. I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified or not political to serve on these boards."

Russ Vought, the former Director of the Office of Management and Budget, tweeted he will not be resigning. He also shared an image of the letter sent to him, which shows that if he did not, his position would be terminated.

Conway took to Twitter to say, "President Biden, I'm not resigning, but you should." She also shared the full letter she sent to the Biden administration in response to the request for her resignation.

Conway said the decision to kick her off the Air Force Academy visitors' board "seems petty and political, if not personal" in her letter.

Meaghan Mobbs, a former advisor to the Trump-Pence campaign on veteran and military family issues, also took to social media to share her thoughts.

"Today, all previously appointed Presidential appointees to the West Point Board of Visitors were asked to resign or be terminated by end of day. My response to that request is below," she tweeted.

Yahoo News reports other well-known ex-Trump officials and allies serving on those boards include Florida attorney general Pam Bondi, Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker, former Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, Andrew Giuliani, Ohio House candidate Max Miller, and Matt Schlapp.
