Designer Of AOC ‘Tax The Rich’ Dress Has Been Hit With 15 Open Tax Warrants, Report Reveals

Opulence and ignorance hit the red carpet when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez arrived at the Met Gala wearing a Tax The Rich gown — designed by none other than Aurora James and Danny Torrance from The Shining.

Joining the spotlight to debut the dress, designer Aurora James came under the hypocritical message's lambasting on social media — made worse by her own history with unpaid taxes.

The New York Post reported that James "racked up three open tax warrants in New York state for failing to withhold income taxes from employees’ paychecks totaling $14,798." The report was independently verified to the Post by the state Department of Taxation and Finance.

"Between April 2018 and April 2019, the Internal Revenue Service placed six federal liens on Cultural Brokerage Agency totaling $103,220," noted the report.

The Gala's excitement for excisemen raised eyebrows as tickets to the event were $35,000 in price. The move slightly paid off for AOC as the New York politician caught several headlines the next day and was given another opportunity to play victim against critics.

Several anonymous former associates of Aurora James spoke out on some of the troubled history she's displayed within her business' operations — including several instances of skipping out on paying her employees. James' LLC has been flagged for not paying the IRS for her workers' comp insurance and "currently owes $62,722 and no payments have been received to date."

“I experienced a lot of harassment when I worked for her,” commented a former employee. “Aurora would ask me to do things that were not in anyone’s job description, like scheduling her gynecological appointments. The work environment was so hostile that I was afraid to ask for my check.”
