Coca-Cola Stays Silent Over China's Uyghur Scandal Amid Beijing Olympic Games Sponsorship
Coca-Cola announced that you can now purchase their catalog of products with hush money.
As reported by Fox Business, the Coca-Cola company has kept strange silent over China's infringements on human rights as their logo appears throughout the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
One of the larger purses in the Games' sponsorship group, Coca-Cola has long declared itself to advocate for equal rights in their contributions to nonprofit organizations, making their lack of response to China's detainment and torture of Uyghur Muslims inconsistent.
The company's M.O., as noted by the reporting, lays out principles that would pragmatically be opposed to the practices that China deliberately operates.
"The Coca-Cola Company is focused on helping communities address their sustainability challenges, but we can’t do it alone," states their webpage. "That is why we’ve formed key nonprofit partnerships with incredible organizations to progress sustainability initiatives such as women’s empowerment, water replenishment, sustainable packaging and climate action."
Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey has been a staunch supporter of the Georgia voter suppression narrative; presenting a strong case against Quincey's promoted humanitarianism.
"This legislation is wrong and needs to be remedied, and we will continue to advocate for it both in private and now even more clearly in public," Quincey previously declared.
China's enslavement of Uyghur Muslims has been acknowledged both by the United States government and a list of international allies.
The Chinese government made their own acknowledgment of the discourse by featuring an athlete of Uyghur roots for their opening ceremony.
Coca-Cola was also a sponsor for the 1936 games held in Germany during Nazi rule.
