CBS Loses SEC Game for Second Straight Week, Replaces It With Mountain West Matchup

For the second time in a row, CBS has lost their SEC college football game of the week due to COVID-19 issues. Last week, the network lost Alabama-LSU. LSU may be having a down year, but Alabama-LSU remains a major rivalry game. It also would have been preceded by the penultimate round of The Masters, which would have boosted viewership. Losing it was a major blow for CBS.

This week, CBS is losing Texas A&M versus Ole Miss as the Aggies battle a combination of positive tests and contact tracing. Today, the network announced that in lieu of the SEC game, they will air a Mountain West matchup between San Diego State and Nevada with their top team of announcers that includes Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson, and Jamie Erdahl:

While CBS deserves credit for making the most of the situation, it's still a big blow for them to lose an SEC game two weeks in a row. With the season entering the home stretch before conference championship games, we hope this will be the last time that this happens.
