Report: Tiger Woods Car Crash Caused By Excessive Speed

Excessive speed was the major cause of the car crash that landed Tiger Woods in the hospital with a number of serious injuries, according to TMZ. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will release the findings of their investigation on Wednesday.

The story is Woods was speeding when he lost control of his SUV and got into the accident.

The Sheriff's Department does not know whether Woods was conscious when he lost control and went down the embankment. Woods himself has stated that he has no recollection of the crash. They say he hit his head three or four times on something hard in the cabin of the SUV.

The legendary golfer is out of the hospital, recovering in Florida. TMZ states Woods won't have any charges filed against him.

Last week, the Sheriff's Department told TMZ that findings wouldn't be released due to privacy concerns, so this release is a significant departure from the way the department has previously communicated with the public regarding this investigation.
