Golfers To Honor Tiger Today By Wearing Red and Black
Just a few days after the single-car accident in California that put Tiger Woods into emergency surgery, the players decided they would all wear red and black on today to honor him.
Is someone cutting onions?
Tiger has spoken about why he wears red and has even said it eventually became a superstition. Can almost guarantee he isn't the only golfer that doesn't want to break their own code. But I guess Tiger Woods' impact was too important to worry about their own games.
Tiger Woods almost became golf.
The WGC-Workday Championship is being played in Tiger's home of Florida, so it's really the perfect tournament to honor him. Patrick Reed was asked if he would honor the 15-time major winner.
"Definitely," Reed said.
Don't wanna throw any shade at Reed, but he's a bit of a wildcard as to how he'll behave. Players with all types of personalities in golf today can all agree on one thing, and that is that Tiger Woods' life is more important than any event. But if you understand why he became the figure he did, it's because he made fans enjoy personality in a sport where that was frowned upon. Sure, players have tried before him, but were they ever the best player the game had to offer while being the most charismatic? Not even close.
Everyone in the golf community is happy that Tiger Woods is here with us and we're happy here at Outkick that Tiger Woods is remembered how we'd want it. A flawed, yet inspiring idol. A real human being that inspires all of us to be better.
