'Yellowstone' Stars Reportedly Reach Deal For Spinoff, Might Destroy Show's Ending

Multiple "Yellowstone" stars reportedly are sticking around once the series ends.

There's long been whispers about a spinoff following the show's conclusion once season five serves as the show's conclusion.

One of the rumored issues for a spinoff was Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes were holding out for bigger paydays. It sounds like they've received it, and that might not be good news for fans.

"Yellowstone" stars reportedly strike deal for spinoff series.

Puck reported Hauser, Reilly and Grimes "have ended their standoff and are wrapping up deals to return for the sequel series," but there's still no official word on Matthew McConaughey or Michelle Pfeiffer being locked down.

Puck reporter Matthew Belloni also speculated "Costner will end up in the series finale—the incentives for him, Sheridan, and Paramount are too great—but as of now there’s no plan."

I'm highly skeptical Costner ever returns. It seems like there's simply no momentum from his side or Taylor Sheridan's side to make a change and fix whatever bridges are broken.

Here's what I do know beyond any shadow of a doubt, Hauser, Reilly and Grimes signing on for a spinoff is probably really bad news for the ending of "Yellowstone."

I've been predicting for years that the neo-Western's ending will be an absolute bloodbath. While I do not have any specific information about the series original ending, I've been led to believe by people connected to that universe that my prediction is likely accurate.

However, there can't be an epic finale if three of the show's biggest characters all have to be kept alive for the spinoff.

For everyone keeping track at home, Costner is (seemingly) out the door with no interest to return, its return has been delayed until this November after a break at the start of 2023 and Hauser, Grimes and Reilly can't have their characters killed off. "Yellowstone" has become so broken that it's hard to know if it can be fixed.

Fans have invested six years into "Yellowstone," and through the ups and downs, the promise has always been that we'd receive an epic ending from Sheridan.

Do you still believe that at this point? I definitely do not. I have very little faith an epic conclusion can be put together if pivotal characters have to be kept alive.

I hope I'm wrong, but something tells me the return of "Yellowstone" is going to be a disaster. Disagree? Agree? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
