'Yellowstone' Fans Share Blunt Reactions To Epic Trailer For Kevin Costner's New Western
"Yellowstone" fans appear to be all in on Kevin Costner's upcoming western.
The trailer dropped Monday for "Horizon: An American Saga," and I'll be the first to admit that it looks absolutely incredible. The preview is dark, gritty, ominous, violent and exactly what Costner fans have come to expect from the star actor over the years.
The first film in the saga drops June 28 and the second film will hit theaters August 16. I truly can't wait. Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com if you feel the same.
"Yellowstone" fans react to trailer for "Horizon: An American Saga."
As "Yellowstone" fans know, one of the reasons Costner might never return to the show is because of these two Western films.
There has been serious drama surrounding the show and the man who plays John Dutton. A huge point of contention was his schedule. He wanted to shoot "Horizon: An American Saga" and the people responsible for "Yellowstone" wanted him focused on the neo-Western from Taylor Sheridan.
After more than a year of issues, it's unclear if Costner will return. So, was it all worth it? Judging from the reactions online, "Yellowstone" fans are absolutely committed to see Costner's latest work.
Check out some reactions from the show's official Reddit page below:
- Actually looks awesome.
- This preview was better than the entire 5th season of Yellowstone.
- Hell yes.
- Looks great, definitely feels like more 1883 though.
- I just want them to kill John off so the real storyline can start up. It’s always been about the kids, their relationships to each other and the ranch, and what will happen to the family legacy once the most toxic family member dies and leaves it to them. If he dies without actually choosing one kid to inherit it, it will be the best kind of chaos. I could see it finally bringing the siblings together as a team.
Below are some of the reactions that rolled in on X.
As I wrote Monday, I'm not going to let the fact these two films might have ruined the ending of "Yellowstone" impact my thoughts on it. You have to judge each on their own merits.
"Horizon: An American Saga" looks like it's going to be epic, and I can't wait to check out both films in theater. There's nobody who can claim to like Westerns and say that the trailer hasn't sent expectations soaring.
I had no idea what to expect. Now, I will be disappointed if it's not great.
