Internet Debates Worst Movie Ever Made, And The Answer Should Be Clear

What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

We've all sat through some bad films and movies that we downright hated. Sometimes, you're with your significant other who made a bad pick or perhaps you were sold on a trailer that oversold the film.

Happens to the best of us, and people on Reddit are breaking down the worst films they've ever seen. It's hard to disagree with some of the picks.

Check out a few of the answers below, and then I'll reveal the worst movie *BY FAR* that I've ever seen:

  • Titanic: The Legend Goes On (2000)
  • Cats. A freakish nightmare
  • (2010) The Last Airbender directed by M. Knight. I had to get up and leave half way. We watched another movie in the theater over
  • After Earth - Jaden Smith movie. I literally left the theatre half way through.
  • The Legend of Hercules. Need every copy of that movie, online or offline, destroyed.
  • Downsizing, every year on Christmas we would go see a movie as a family for 5-8 years in a row. Then we saw downsizing and never went to the theater again.
  • I convinced my then gf to watch Ghost Rider with me and I lost movie picking privileges because of how bad it was
  • The emoji movie
  • The Avengers (Uma Thurman & Ralph Feinnes). The only cinema movie I ever walked out of.
  • Jack and Jill, with Adam Sandler. Absolute rubbish
  • The Love Guru. A bunch of friends dragged me to see it when I was a teenager and it was God awful. I ended up walking out because I couldn't take it anymore.
  • The Happening
  • Epic Movie
  • Probably Paul Blart Mall Cop 2. My school took us to the movie as a reward to people with good grades and no suspensions

Matthew McConaughey is responsible for the worst movie ever made.

I think it's fair to say that's a solid list, but let's reveal the one that is so bad that I thought someone had slipped drugs into my drink and I was hallucinating:

"Serenity" with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.

The trailers for "Serenity" were absolute fire. The movie looked like it could rival some of McConaughey's best work and carry the same energy as "True Detective."

I still remember walking into the theater unbelievably excited. I was wrong. I was so wrong that I was livid with myself.

While I usually avoid spoilers, I'm not going to here. Not even a little bit. The entire film turns out to be a video game, none of it is real and then the game's developer - a kid - ends up killing his mom's abuser at the end.

You realize the character played by McConaughey was his actual dad who died in war and the kid created a video game to immerse himself in.

Does that sound dumb as hell? Just wait until you actually watch it. It's like an acid trip nobody asked for, and the worst part is the cast of "Serenity" is outrageously talented.

Diane Lane, Djimon Hounsou, Jason Clarke and Jeremy Strong all have significant roles in addition to Hathaway and McConaughey.

Yet, not even all that starpower could save "Serenity" from being the worst movie ever made. And in case you think it's just me who hated it, the movie currently holds a 21% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 30% score from the audience.

It's hands down the worst movie I've ever suffered through, and I won't apologize for saying it. What's the worst movie you've ever seen? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
