Variety Producer Slammed For Question That Made Jennifer Aniston Break Down On Camera
An off-camera producer over at Variety is getting dragged through the mud today after an odd moment with Jennifer Aniston was caught on camera.
Aniston, who turned on all of America for a decade during her run as Rachel Green on Friends, was sitting down with Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson for some sort of project the outlet is working on.
You don't care what the project is, I don't care what the project is, so we'll just leave it at that. I ain't looking it up.
PS: I tried Abbott Elementary a while back because my wife likes it, and after about five minutes I told her it would eventually anger me because it would turn insanely woke so I was OUT.
Update: I was right. Don't waste your time.
Anyway, back to Jennifer Aniston …
A now-viral clip is dominating the internet this morning of an off-camera producer getting Quinta's attention because they wanted her to ask Aniston about watching Friends nowadays. Obviously, the implied reason for the question was because co-star Matthew Perry tragically died late last year.
That, obviously, led to some waterworks:
Jennifer Aniston breaks down over Matthew Perry death
I mean, look … it's weird, but also, I assume that's how these interviews go, right? When you have a couple movie stars interviewing each other with no actual experience, you're gonna have to feed them some questions.
I would also assume that Jennifer Aniston knew that question was coming, right? Pretty big – and unbelievably sad – elephant in the room right now.
Matthew Perry dying out of nowhere late last year was one of the worst things ever. Just stunning. We all sort of knew that day could come because of all the stuff he overcame in his life, but he was seemingly doing so well for so long, so we all sort of let our guards down.
And then, BAM. The news broke and watching Friends would never be the same. I'm not sure I've watched an episode since. True story.
Anyway, the internet didn't appreciate Variety making Jennifer Aniston cry, which I can appreciate because she's a queen and should be treated as such.
Rachel Green >>>> everybody else.
