University of Kentucky's Gracyn Dawn Courtright Is Facing Charges Over Capitol Riot

University of Kentucky student Gracyn Dawn Courtright, wrote "can't wait to tell my grandkids I was here" on an Instagram photo showing the senior with her arms raised in the air. Now the U.S. government is using her social media postings against her in a court of law with three federal charges in connection to the January 6 riot.

In one photo, the West Virginia native, is seen carrying a "Members Only" sign around the Capitol. That led to a theft of government charge for Gracyn, who has since deleted her social media pages, but not before the government was able to snag a few screenshots to use against her.

The Courier-Journal reports Courtright is charged with "knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in disorderly conduct in a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and theft of government property under $1,000, according to court records."

The government also has what it says are direct messages between Gracyn and a witness where the UK senior says "it's history idc," "I thought it was cool," and "idk what treason is."

Courtright's father, an attorney, reportedly told the FBI that his daughter was in D.C. to attend "the party" and that she was in front of the crowd for President Trump's speech earlier in the day.
