TV Reporter Goes Viral For Violently Slapping Herself In The Face During Live Report

You ever slapped yourself in the face by accident, but also out of necessity? 

If said yes, you live in Florida. Congrats, by the way. You may also live anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon. Again, congrats!

If you said no, you probably spend your summers in the northeast or, gulp, California. Yuck. I'm so sorry. 

Anyway, all that to say we have a TV reporter over in Australia who is currently going mega-viral for slapping the ever-loving piss out of herself during a live report this week because she was attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. 

And to this, I say – I've been there before, Andrea Crothers:

Just the worst. The sneaky mosquito attack is the worst part of summer in Florida. Frankly, it's the worst part about living in Florida, because it could happen any time of the year because it's 100 degrees down here most of the year. 

But the summer is the worst, and it never fails. You'll be sitting there on your back deck, the sun has finally taken a break from frying the crap out of you for 12 straight hours, there's the faintest hint of a cool breeze, and the humidity has finally dropped below 150%. You're finally, somewhat, cool. 

And then – BAM! You're just attacked out of nowhere. Dozens of disgusting mosquitoes are suddenly on your face, up your noise, in your eyes, your hair, your ears – you name it. It's miserable. 

And you can't help but to just start swinging in every which direction, including at your own face. 

You can't help it. You just react to the situation currently unfolding best you can, and that absolutely includes pummeling yourself. I've done it a hundred times. Hell, it's a rite of passage down here. 

Now, when I do it, it's usually in front of a bunch of drunk buddies, so we all just laugh and move on. Poor Today Show Andrea here did it in front of all the Aussies on live TV. Tough look, but that's just the way it goes. 

She'll be OK. Again, we've all been there.
