Apple Drops Intriguing Trailer For Heist Film Starring Matt Damon

Apple's upcoming movie "The Instigators" with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck looks pretty interesting.

The plot of film is as follows:

"Rory (Matt Damon) and Cobby (Casey Affleck) are reluctant partners: a desperate father and an ex-con thrown together to rob a corrupt politician's ill-gained earnings. But when the heist goes wrong, the two find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police but also by backward bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses. Completely out of their depth, they convince Rory’s therapist (Hong Chau) to join their riotous getaway through the city, where they must put aside their differences and work together to evade capture — or worse."

I don't need much more convincing after reading a plot description like that. Throw in Affleck and Damon, and it's hard to not get excited.

Well, the trailer dropped Thursday, and you're definitely not going to want to miss it. Give it a watch below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Apple releases trailer for "The Instigators" with Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.

It looks like Apple might have another significant hit on its hands with "The Instigators." When I first heard about this movie a few weeks back, I thought it was going to have a vibe similar to "The Town."

After all, "The Town" stars Ben Affleck and is one of the best heist films ever made. It appears this film will have a more light-hearted tone.

It seems like it's got a bit of an "Oceans" tone and vibe to it, and I definitely don't hate it.

Plus, Apple has been on an insane roll over the past couple years when it comes to releasing fire content. "Masters of the Air" is probably going to go down as the best show of the year.

Now, the tech giant is dropping a fun heist film starring two legit stars and Paul Walter Hauser is even in the cast.

You're missing out if you've never seen him star in "Richard Jewell."

You can catch "The Instigators" starting August 9th on Apple TV+, and I'll definitely be checking it out.
