'Game Of Thrones' Star's New Horror Movie...Looks Pretty Bizarre: TRAILER

The trailer is out for Kit Harington's new movie "The Beast Within."

The plot of the new film from the "Game of Thrones" star is described as follows:

After a series of strange events leads her to question her family’s isolated life on a fortified compound deep in the English wilds, 10-year-old Willow follows her parents on one of their secret late-night treks to the heart of the ancient forest. But upon witnessing her father undergo a terrible transformation, she too becomes ensnared by the dark ancestral secret they’ve tried so desperately to conceal.

Sounds pretty interesting, right? Well, I'm not sold one way or the other. Check out the trailer below, and then we'll dive in.

Trailer released for Kit Harington's new movie 'The Beast Within'

What do we all think about the preview? I'm very torn. This movie is either going to be outstanding or downright terrible.

I'm not sure there's much middle ground for a film about a guy who is hiding the fact he's a werewolf from his daughter. What do I always say about horror films?

The film can't straddle the line between being incredibly dark and being funny. Some horror movies are amazing if they go comedic. "Scream" is a prime example. Others are great if they go very dark and sinister.

As I often say, the only films that have kind of successfully blended the two are the "Fear Street" movies. It appears "The Beast Within" is going to go dark. It better do it right, or it will be a trash film.

On that note, Harington hasn't really dropped a banger of a film since "Game of Thrones" ended. His IMDB page is a bit comical with titles like "Baby Ruby," "Blood for Dust" and "Lot No. 249."

Will Harington inject a bit of energy into his career with "The Beast Within"? We'll find out July 26, and I'll withhold judgment until then. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
