Taylor Swift Is Selling Her Private Jet But It's Not To Save The Environment

Notorious private jet owner and global warming contributor Taylor Swift has sold one of her private jets amid some recent air drama.

The future bride-to-be of Travis Kelce sold her Dassault Falcon 900LX last week for the same $40 million price that she originally purchased it in 2011.

But calm down Swifties, you won't be seeing your favorite singer on your next JetBlue flight.

And no, it's not because Swift suddenly had a change of heart and isn't going to be the leading celebrity contributor to global carbon emissions for the second year in a row. In fact, she still has her much more expensive and larger Dassault Falcon 7x that will now most likely be her preferred way of travel.

Instead, it has to do with Swift taking on a college student who has been driving her crazy over publicly releasing her flight information.

SWIFT IS THREATENING LEGAL ACTION

Last week, Swift's lawyers sent a cease-and-desist order to University of Central Florida junior Jack Sweeney to stop publicly disclosing the singer's flight paths and subsequently the amount of carbon emissions her jet is burning into the atmosphere.

Swift's team argues that it's a violation of her privacy and a security risk, as wackjob stalkers now have an easier way of knowing where the pop star will be. Sweeney, who also had a public battle with Elon Musk after releasing his flight tracking info and was subsequently suspended from Twitter for doing so, claims that he's not doing anything wrong.

"Firstly I'd like to clarify that my intentions are not to cause harm. In fact, I actually like some of Swift’s songs. But I believe in the importance of transparency and public information, seemingly more so than Meta. As Meta suspended my @taylorswiftjets account on Instagram, Threads and Facebook. The accounts got suspended only hours after I received the letter from her team," Sweeney told Fox News Digital.

SWEENEY PUBLICLY TRACKS CELEBS AND BILLIONAIRES

And if you think the 20-year-old is going to take this lying down, Sweeney wants Swift to know that they are definitely not ever getting back together.

"This information is already out there, her team thinks they can control the world," a combative Sweeney told the Daily Mail.

"When the Embassy of Japan in the USA expresses confidence that Swift can make a flight from Tokyo to the Super Bowl, it indicates public interest," Sweeney told Newsweek. "Therefore, one should reasonably expect that their jet will be tracked, whether or not I'm the one doing it, as it is public information after all."

IS SWEENEY IN THE WRONG?

It's unclear if Swift actually has a legal case here. When Sweeney was in his public feud with Elon, the Tesla CEO actually offered him $5,000 to stop tracking him - which Sweeney promptly turned down. Elon and Sweeney are still on let's just say ‘bad terms,’ as Musk called him out yesterday on the platform over the Swift ordeal by calling him an "awful human being."

Personally, I'm all about freedom and liberty and not letting the powers-that-be get away with things with there being no oversight. But, I also understand that there are plenty of absolute weirdos out there that are infatuated with Taylor as she has regularly had various stalkers arrested.

Sweeney may legally be in the right here, but I feel like this is the wrong kind of flex. Maybe just rip her for her global warming contribution after the flight has already landed?
