Taylor Swift Donates Massive Amount Of Money To Kansas City Shooting Victim
Taylor Swift pulled off an incredibly classy move for the surviving family members of Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
Lopez-Galvan was killed Wednesday in a horrific shooting at the Super Bowl parade for the Kansas City Chiefs. The shooting that left the popular radio DJ dead rocked the sports world and also resulted in more than 20 people being wounded.
It was a tragic situation and a display of evil at its worst. Fortunately, the police and bystanders quickly reacted to bring the carnage to an end.
Now, Lisa Lopez-Galvan's family must process the brutal loss, and Swift is stepping up to help.
Taylor Swift donates to GoFundMe for Lisa Lopez-Galvan.
Swift donated $100,000 early Friday to a GoFundMe setup to help Lopez-Galvan's family, according to Fox News. The GoFundMe page shows the "Wildest Dreams" singer donated back-to-back $50,000 contributions.
Her donation currently makes up more than half of the $182,433 raised as of publication.
No matter what you think of T-Swift's music or her impact on the NFL, there's no doubt at all that this is a classy move that deserves to be applauded.
The Kansas City community is in a state of grieving after some scumbags decided to open fire during the parade. Lisa Lopez-Galvan lost her life and many more were injured.
The death toll could have been much worse if the police and innocent civilians hadn't acted with such quick bravery.
Now, Taylor Swift is stepping up to help a complete stranger she had absolutely no connection to. She donated more money in a matter of minutes than the average American earns in a year. It's an awesome gesture, and while it won't heal the pain, the money should help the family get back on its feet. Shout out to Swift for stepping up and making a difference simply because she has the ability to. Let me know your thoughts on the situation at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
