Taylor Swift Gets Political - Get Ready For What's Next
Taylor Swift is telling her fans to go out and vote.
One of - if not THE most famous celebrities in the world encouraged her legions of Swifties to participate in today's Super Tuesday elections that are occurring across the country on the local, state and Presidential level.
Why does this matter?
Read on and I'll explain it to you.
"Today, March 5, is the Presidential primary in Tennessee and 16 other states and territories. I wanted to remind you guys to vote the people who most represent YOU into power. If you haven’t already, make a plan to vote today," Swift wrote to her more than 280 million Instagram followers. "Whether you’re in Tennessee or somewhere else in the US, check your polling places and times at vote.org," she continued.
TAYLOR SWIFT CAN IMPACT THE ELECTION
Normally, I wouldn't think about covering this story. That is, of course, until Taylor Swift became one of the most influential people in the entire world.
Don't believe me?
Then why did former President Donald Trump already go after her for her previoussupporting Democratic ways just a few weeks ago?
Because he, like many Republicans, knows that Taylor Swift has TREMENDOUS influence and can bring out large numbers if she endorses a particular party.
With one single Instagram post last year, Taylor was able to have 35,000 fans register to vote.
Who else has that power? Nobody.
In fact, I'd even argue that Taylor Swift's fans have that same type of loyalty to her as Trump's supporters have for him.
Although Taylor didn't endorse a political party in her post today, she has publicly supported Democrats in the past - including Joe Biden in 2020.
In 2018, she endorsed two Democratic Tennessee politicians on her social media pages - one of whom ended up winning. But in 2018, Taylor was nowhere near the power that she wields now.
ALL EYES ON SWIFT'S POLITICAL ENDORSEMENT
Just look at Taylor Swift's last year alone.
Her Eras Tour became the highest-grossing tour of all-time in music, bringing in over a BILLION DOLLARS. People were literally selling the RAIN WATER from her shows.
And let's not forget her NFL takeover this year. It was literally the Swift Bowl last month - even having prop bets on how many times CBS would show her during the game!
I've previously argued that whichever political party shut down TikTok would lose the election because it would anger so many younger voters and incentivize them to come out and vote.
But now?
The Swift effect is real, and you can bet that both Democrats and Republicans are going to do everything they can to try and get her support.
