Sydney Sweeney Responds To Producer's Claims That She Isn't Pretty & Can't Act
The assault on Sydney Sweeney continues. The most recent round of attempts to take her down started when the folks over at Slate claimed that her boobs weren't actually that big.
The post, which reads, "It needs to be said: Sydney Sweeney's boobs are not that big." was hit with one of the best community notes of all-time.
It simply read "Yes they are" and included a link to exhibit A - her Instagram page. After that attack failed, the comically insane decided to regroup and take another shot at Sweeney.
This time it was Hollywood producer Carol Baum who decided to send insults hurling the 26-year-old actress's way. She, too, tried to go after Sweeney's looks, but added that in addition to being "not pretty," she claimed that "she can't act."
Baum, who teaches a class on movie production at USC, claims to have watched one of Sweeney's "unwatchable" movies recently. This prompted her to ask her students to explain why Sweeney was so popular.
Sydney Sweeney Wasn't About To Let This Criticism Go Unanswered
"I said to my class, 'Explain this girl to me. She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot?'" she claims.
Can't act? What do you call this?
Perhaps Mrs. Baum was asking the questions to the wrong group of people.
Sweeney's movies are all over theaters everywhere for a couple of reasons and it most certainly isn't because she isn't pretty and can't act. She's an Emmy-nominated actress after all.
So she knows how to have some fun in a Hooters sketch or in her bikini in a Rom-Com. And she's done some sex scenes. Big deal.
Acting completely clueless about what she brings to the table and throwing insults at her is sad. That's exactly how Sweeney feels about the situation. She wasn't about to let a Hollywood producer take these kinds of shots without firing back.
"How sad that a woman in the position to share her expertise and experience chooses instead to attack another woman," she said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
"If that’s what she’s learned in her decades in the industry and feels is appropriate to teach to her students, that’s shameful. To unjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes about Ms Baum’s character."
Sweeney nailed it here with her statement. You're not going to get away with making ridiculous claims like these without a solid response, especially if you've put in decades in Hollywood.
Sadly for Sydney Sweeney, being the savior of pop culture attracts a bunch of haters.
