Strip Club Customer Allegedly Assaulted By An Employee With A Stack Of Cash For Not Tipping
Things took a turn at a Florida strip club earlier this week when a customer, who had a little too much to drink, thought it would be a good idea to not tip the strippers.
An employee took matters into her own hands and allegedly hit the customer in the face with a stack of cash. It all went down on Tuesday night at the Body Talk Sports Bar, a topless establishment in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Police were called to the scene around 9 pm and 28-year-old Victoria Jones ended up taking a trip to jail for battery. She's the employee of the strip club who is accused of hitting John McKelvey with the stack of cash.
McKelvey, 24, claims he was talking to employees about his career when they became upset with him for not tipping. He told responding officers that "he did not see any signs stating it was mandatory to tip."
For his lack of strip club etiquette, he says an employee slapped him twice and spit on him. The officer noticed a small red mark on the side of his face, consistent with his story, and an odor of alcohol.
The victim's friend backed up his claim that he had been slapped in the face. He witnessed the employee grab the money and slap his friend with it. However, he had a slightly different version of McKelvey's lack of tipping.
McKelvey's friend told officers that he was drunk and that he was "talking about having a lot of money and not wanting to provide a tip." That's nothing short of asking to be slapped upside the head with a stack of cash.
Tipping At The Strip Club Is An Important Part Of The Employee-Customer Relationship
For her part, Jones says she tossed the cash at the customer in a non-aggressive manner and claimed that, "This is a place where money is thrown everywhere."
Unfortunately, there weren't any details provided concerning Jones' position at the club or the amount of money included in what was described as a small stack of cash.
Jones was arrested for battery and booked at the county jail. She was released early Wednesday after posting a $500 bond.
I'm going to bet that Jones and her co-workers would say the trip to jail and the bond were worth teaching the customer a lesson about proper strip club etiquette.
