Stephen Colbert Called Me Out Last Night: Mike Gunzelman

Stephen Colbert called me out last night and it was amazing.

It all started Sunday night when I was half-comatose from my annual nap during the Masters tournament, which, by the way, is the most peaceful nap besides post-Thanksgiving dinner.

About 9pm ET right before the Sunday Scaries hit, and I began wondering whether "I had done anything productive with my life," this past weekend - I saw that the GOAT himself, Billy Joel, was on CBS. The network was airing Joel's 100th sold out show at Madison Square Garden as he is set to retire his decades long residency there this summer.

CBS CUT OFF BILLY JOEL TO GO TO ANTI-TRUMP NEWS

That was until some mouth breather over at the network decided to pull the plug on good ol' Billy a little too soon - abruptly ending the special right in the middle of Piano Man no less! Seriously, of all times to cut off the well, Piano Man himself, and going to do it at that moment to go to your local news?  I immediately tweeted out my outrage that the one time I watched CBS that wasn't sports-related, the Price is Right or Blue Bloods (which CBS is idiotically canceling after this season), they abruptly cut off to go to the news and a story about Donald Trump no less.

I had some fun with the tweet - incorporating my long-time catchphrase "Ballin," into it. Because I know what ballin is and CBS's antics were not ballin.

Enter, Stephen Colbert - who hilariously had some fun on my tweet during last night's Late Show.

MY TWEET WENT VIRAL

"Fans were understandably in a pissed off state of mind, posting messages like this" Colbert began while reading my tweet before emphatically screaming "NOT BALLIN, NOT BALLIN AT ALL!" which had me, my friends and fans in tears because it was so perfect.

"Which is especially embarrassing for CBS News because their slogan is - ‘All the news that’s fit to ball," Colbert continued.

Colbert taking a swipe at his own network and the New York Times? Who has he become?!

Needless to say, The Gunz effect worked as my post went viral and was picked up by the New York Post, Billboard, Yahoo, Awful Announcing and more. The CBS suits came to their senses and will air the entire Billy Joel show again this coming Friday night at 9pm ET with no interruptions.

Honestly, Colbert, this may be the best thing to happen to you. Americans are beyond tired of the tedious, unfunny political ‘humor’ that has become so worn out that it's no surprise late night ratings continue to falter.

People want to escape the BS right before they head to bed - not be agitated by it. Give them something to really laugh about - keep the partisan political takes for the cable news appearances.

Now that would be, dare I say, ballin.
