Stephen A. Smith Finally Admits The Truth About Black NFL Coaches, Eric Bieniemy
Stop the presses, take a seat, buckle up and hold on tight – Stephen A. Smith appears to be the voice of reason when it comes to Eric Bieniemy and black coaches in the NFL.
I know – shocking, right?
The same week that noted USA Today race-baiter Mike Freeman pumped out his tired take of being angry at the NFL for NOT hiring Eric Bieniemy, Stephen A. Smith hopped on his very own podcast last night and actually … offered up a smart, sensible take.
"I have spent years lamenting the state of affairs when it comes to the state of affairs as it pertains to the National Football League and Black coaches," Smith said. "I have spent years coming to the defense of Eric Bieniemy. Not anymore. Can’t do it anymore.
"When I think about Eric Bieniemy, I think about how Demeco Ryans got the job in Houston and Mike McDaniels, who is bi-racial in Miami. I think about Mike Tomlin, who has been in Pittsburgh for 17 years. Think about Todd Bowles, guys like this.
"I’m just looking at some of this stuff and saying to myself, What am I supposed to say for Eric Bieniemy at this point? He has been interviewed at least 15 times for 14 different head coaching jobs. And not one time has he walked away with the job. At some point in time, it has to be you."
Eric Bieniemy just sucks, OK? Get it through your heads
My God. Stephen A. Smith! What a take! He's finally right about something.
Look, I've said time and time again – nobody on this planet puts my mind in a pretzel more than Stephen A. Smith. Nobody.
One minute he's hopping on Sean Hannity and Fox News and actually making sense, and the next he's crying racism or saying something dumb about Ron DeSantis.
I just can't figure this dude out, which is probably why he's so popular. Frankly, it's a brilliant strategy if you can pull it off.
This take, though, is spot-on. I'm so tired of people talking about how much Eric Bieniemy deserves a head coaching job in the NFL. No, he doesn't. Clearly.
Obviously, the guy STINKS during the interview process, or he'd be hired by now. The NFL just hired three black head coaches during this past cycle. Another one – Baltimore's Anthony Weaver – was named the DC in Miami.
Eric Bieniemy, meanwhile, was fired in Washington and is now the OC for UCLA.
"The reality is that the NFL is hiring Black coaches now. They just aren’t Eric Bieniemy," Smith added.
Amen, Stephen A.
I look forward to you pissing me off at some point soon with a dumb take. For now, though, you're on our good side. Congrats!
