Soccer's Latest Dual Threat Kelci Bowers On The Move In The Premier League

There's a new dual threat in the world of soccer that is racking up views for her new team.  Is she threatening Croatian soccer player Ana Maria Markovic's title as the "World's Hottest Soccer Player?"  Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Ultimately, as Markovic pointed out, the people will decide whether Kelci Bower's is a legit challenger or not.

So far, people have decided that the former LSU soccer player, who has been loaned to AFC Bournemouth Women of the Premier League by Portsmouth, is worth millions of views.

An introductory video, titled "A message from our new recruit," that the 20-year-old made for her new team has been viewed on X more than 21 million times.

Kelci's message to AFC Bournemouth fans was a simple one, "Hi guys, Kelci Bowers here. I am here at AFC Bournemouth.  I can’t wait to get going."

Soccer fans sent a message of their own back to the soccer player and her new team.  She's a legit social media star in the making.

Kelci is a defender and model from Fareham, England.  She spent one season at LSU in 2022-23.  She appeared in seven games for the Tigers and was on the field for a total of 150 minutes that season.

From there it was off to Portsmouth.  Somewhere along the way, she started modeling with FORTE Sports Talent.

How does one go from 150 minutes of play at LSU to the Premier League?  I couldn't begin to tell you what all goes into that process.

What I can tell you is the Cherries are happy to have her and probably coming to terms with what kind of talent they've landed.  With 21 million views, they're going to have to figure out how to feature her more going forward.

It's obvious that Kelci's talent goes far beyond what happens on the field.  For her part, she's embracing the new opportunity.  She said, ""I am really pleased.  The girls seem great, there are really good facilities and Steve seems a great manager, so I’m really excited to get going."

"They have got a great ambition here and good goals to achieve. I want to help achieve that and be a part of that to take into next season."

That's a fantastic approach.  Part of what Kelci is going to be taking into next season is an increased follower count.  Now the numbers don't lie.  She just hit 15k followers on Instagram (as I was writing this).

Compare that to Markovic's 3.2 million Instagram followers, and she has some work to do to catch the dual threat top spot.  Now who knows what competing in the Premier League will do for Kelcie's numbers?

Then there's Swiss soccer player Alisha Lehmann out there.  She has an unbelievable 16.5 million followers, and celebrities in her DMs.  She also has a neck tattoo, which for some - and I'm not here to debate that - is a disqualifier.

Whether neck tattoos are disqualifiers or not is neither here nor there when it comes to Kelci Bowers.  She appears to be a soccer player that at the very least should be on the OutKick Culture Department's radar.  Her next move could be the difference in a few thousand followers and several hundreds of thousands.
