SI Swimsuit Rookie Berkleigh Wright Is No Longer A Broncos Cheerleader After Hanging Up Her Pom Poms
The Denver Broncos will have one less veteran on their roster heading into next season. They didn't lose just any veteran either, they lost a captain.
In a move that seemed to be out of nowhere, but given her modeling success, it was probably in the works for some time, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Berkleigh Wright said farewell to Broncos Country on Friday. She won't be back on the sideline at Mile High next season.
Berkleigh released a statement from her official Denver Broncos cheerleader account that was also shared on the Broncos main cheerleader account. She didn't indicate what was next for her, but instead reflected on her time with the team.
Like a true professional, she had a little bit of something for everyone in there. Her teammates, friends and family, and, of course, the fans.
Broncos Country,
5 years, 63 women, 1 incredible journey. From Mexico, to Hawaii, to Japan and everywhere in between, this has truly been the adventure of a lifetime. I have so many people to thank for helping shape me into the woman I am today.
To my parents, family, and best friends - Thank you for being my #1 fans, on and off the field, and pushing me to chase my dreams. Thank you to my coaches for believing in me 7 years ago, and continuing to believe in me every day since. To my teammates, that have become family - Thank you for creating a home for me here. Dancing alongside you has been nothing short of a dream, and it has been an honor to get to lead you this last year. Lastly, to Broncos Country - Thank you for your unconditional support throughout my five seasons. Forever the best fans in the NFL!
I walked into that audition room 7 years ago as a girl, and I’m leaving this legacy as a woman. Without this team, I would not be headed where I am. My hope for those who enter this space next, always remember how truly invincible you are.
How lucky am I to have something so special in my life that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Berkleigh Wright Went From NFL Cheerleader To Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie
It's hard to tell from that farewell whether Berkleigh is hanging up her pom poms for good or just for the orange and blue. There are a lot of answers left unanswered by her goodbye to Broncos Country.
We don't even know for sure if the move is related to her career as a technical account manager and analyst or her career as a model.
I'd lean towards modeling, given that she's about to appear in the 60th anniversary edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, set to drop in May.
Whatever is next for the SI Swimsuit rookie, there's little doubt that she won't succeed. She rose to captain as an NFL cheerleader and was named a rookie for one of the most iconic swimsuit magazines.
