Should McDonald’s 'Double Big Mac' Come With Health Warning?
McDonald’s multiplied its signature Big Mac sandwich this year by reintroducing the Double Big Mac.
After a four-year hiatus, the four-patty burger is back on the market for a limited time.
Take a detailed look:
However, some chefs don't find the Double Mac to be all fun and games.
Chef Curtis Stone, who designed the menu for this weekend’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, told Fox News Digital that McDonald’s ought to put a "health warning" on the new burger.
Stone said consumers just assume that a fast-food company has "done its due diligence or is being responsible when they serve [their food]. Some of these companies serve things that are just ridiculous and have crazy caloric intakes, and I just don’t know that we need to be doing that regularly."
He thinks the sandwich could be dangerous.
Per McDonald’s, the Double Big Mac is 780 calories. The regular Big Mac is 590.
But get this: you Shamrock Shake drinkers are even wider in the waist. A large Shamrock accounts for 800 calories.
Yikes.
"You can eat fast-food once in a while," Stone advises. "That’s up to you, of course. I would just be careful with it."
"You’ve got to make sure you keep things in balance. I think eating often throughout the day is important. I know there’s a lot of talk about fasting and that’s OK, that’s one way to do it, but I think actually checking in with yourself a few times, so you don’t ever get super starving because that’s when you go on that giant blowout. And eat what comes out of the ground, not what comes out of packets."
Mehh.
Let's simplify it with some official OutKick advice: just do not order a Double Big Mac and a Shamrock for lunch at the same time. Even if it's your only meal that day.
By the way, the regular Big Mac edges the Burger King Whopper in flavor. A third and fourth patty were not needed. McDonald’s was already leading the competition.
