Shilo Sanders Gets Acting Role Playing His Father Deion On STARZ Show
Shilo Sanders will make his acting debut Friday night on Starz. The Colorado Buffaloes safety landed a role playing a younger version of his father Deion Sanders in the season finale of the network's popular crime drama, BMF. Shilo has only one scene in the episode.
Now in its third season, BMF (Black Mafia Family) is inspired by the true story of two brothers from Detroit, Demetrius "Big Meech" and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, who developed one of the most influential crime families in American history. The real Deion and Big Meech were acquaintances during the Hall of Famer's time with the Atlanta Falcons as Flenory used to visit Sanders’ club Prime Time 21, Starz publicity director Joseph Williams told USA TODAY.
Ahead of Friday night’s episode, Deion posted a photo of Shilo with actor Da’Vinchi, who plays Flenory.
"Season 3 Episode 10 guess who’s playing a Young PRIME! I’m so proud of [Shilo] he did the Doggone THANG! Good Lawd the SANDERS boys are exercising all the gifts that GOD gave them and having fun living this life that we only get 1 shot at. Live kids Live," Deion wrote.
Shilo is following in his father’s footsteps as he dabbles in the acting world. Deion has made cameos on several TV shows, including Moesha, Walker, Texas Ranger and The League. He also hosted Saturday Night Live and starred in the 2008 reality series Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love and the 2014 docu-series Deion’s Family Playbook.
But the acting gig is just another notch in the belt for Shilo and his brother Shedeur, who have cashed in on their father's fame (and their own success in football) to become two of the richest and most in-demand collegiate athletes in the country. The brothers walked the runway as models for the Louis Vuitton Men's Fall/Winter 2024 line at Paris Fashion Week in January, and Shedeur released his first rap single, "Perfect Timing," earlier this week.
"Shedeur has made a lot of money, man, in college, and they’re good stewards," Deion said in a September interview with USA TODAY. "The thing that I love the most and admire about my kids the most — he and Shilo was having an argument … about who had the most money in the bank. I like that as a parent."
The Sanders brothers are ranked No. 1 and No. 18 in projected college NIL valuations by On3 — with Shedeur at $4.6 million and Shilo at $1.1 million.
